Sex offender held for failure to notify

A convicted sex offender was in the Warren County Jail today charged with failure to notify authorities of his change of address.

Louis Gene Ramont, 51, 2960 Scott Road, Vicksburg, was stopped for a traffic violation Wednesday, said Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace.

A subsequent investigation showed he had failed to register in Warren County and he was registered in Waveland, a previous address.

Ramont was arrested at his Vicksburg home on Saturday and today was awaiting a court hearing.
