UTICA — Yancie Fulgham Morrison of Utica died Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.

Visitation will be at Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica from 4 to 7 this evening and at 10 a.m. Monday at Lebanon Presbyterian Church in Learned, with services beginning at 11. The Rev. Rick Holbert will officiate. Interment will follow at Utica Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Josh Halford, Chris Morrison, Chad Morrison, Brian Poole, Greg Kitchens and Dale Yates.

Mrs. Morrison was preceded in death by her parents, Joel Nathan and Allie Heard Fulgham.

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Gene Morrison; three children, David (Martha) Morrison of Baton Rouge, Gary (Carole) Morrison of Pelahatchie, and Kim (Joe) Halford of Bolton; one sister, Ruby Blick of Tuscon, Ariz.; three brothers, E.C. (Pearl) Fulgham of Shreveport, Joe (Jessie) Fulgham of Wichita, Kan., and Milton (Deanne) Fulgham of Centerville, Ala. She also had eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as Maw Maw.

Mrs. Morrison was born June 12, 1928, in Utica, and lived most of her life in Hinds County. During her 82 years, she was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an active member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church, the Utica 20th Century Club and was very fond of their monthly Supper Club gathering. She enjoyed sewing for her children and grandchildren, traveling and, in her later years, developed a passion for painting.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lebanon Presbyterian Church, 310 Oak St., Learned, MS 39154. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to all those who have been so generous in their many acts of kindness to Yancie and her family.
