Shelby Jefferies Mann III

Shelby Jefferies Mann III died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at his home. He was 53.

Born in Vicksburg, he was a former resident of Port Gibson and had lived in Vicksburg for four years. Mr. Mann was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Children of the American Revolution. He was a millwright with the Local Union 1102, United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America.

Mr. Mann was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Shelby Jefferies Mann Jr.

He is survived by a daughter, LuJuan M. Pearce of Gulfport; a son, Justin Shelby Mann of Vicksburg; his mother, Maxine F. Mann of Vicksburg; two sisters, Edwina Carpenter of Gatlinburg, Tenn., and Joy Caruthers of Vicksburg; and one grandson.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Riles Funeral Home with Walter Frazier officiating. Burial will be at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
