The Vicksburg-Warren Humane Society would like to thank Nancy Watkins of Watkins Nursery for donating straw to use as bedding in our new barn.

We also thank Mary Jane Wooten of Silver Creek Arena for donating and delivering a round bale of hay to feed our horses. We also thank Melody and Steve Golding for their generosity for a second bale of round hay, which will be delivered by Silver Creek when need.

Robin Jeffers of Bovina Feed has been wonderful to the shelter in her donations of square bales of hay and sweet feed. We also thank Debbie Fuller of Warrenton Farm and Garden for her donations of shavings when we have to stall horses.

We are so grateful to our wonderful community that has supported us in our endeavors of helping the homeless and abused animals throughout this holiday season for their donations of dog and cat food and other supplies needed to run our shelter.

We thank The Vicksburg Post for all the wonderful, caring articles concerning abused and neglected horses. We appreciated the Warren County sheriff’s deputies who aid us in our efforts to seize and remove those animals that are in such great need of care.

In addition, we thank the Vicksburg Police Department and the sheriff’s office for their extra patrol after hours keeping our building and the animals we house safe.
