A Georgia man was in the Warren County Jail this morning after being arrested on a warrant for not surrendering to a drug indictment in the city.
Jerry Johnson, 38, 295 S. Bamboo St., Jesup, was arrested in Pearl at 1 a.m. Tuesday by Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol during a traffic stop, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.
After an identity check, Johnson was found to have a fugitive warrant for his arrest for not surrendering to a 2006 indictment of possession of cocaine, a charge for which he was arrested in 2005 following an undercover investigation of drug activity in the 2700 block of Jeannette Street, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said. He was returned to Vicksburg and held without bond.
