Miss Hardy, Mr. Smith to recite vows July 17

Mr. and Mrs. Jack B. Hardy of Terry announce the engagement of their daughter, Leslie Ann, to Drew Anthony Smith. Mr. Smith is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Carr and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Smith of Vicksburg.

Miss Hardy is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth E. Downey and the late Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Hardy of Jackson.

Mr. Smith is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Rodgers of Leland and the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Smith Sr. of Greenville.

The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of Terry High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Mississippi State University, where she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and Kappa Delta Pi honor societies.

Miss Hardy is pursuing a career in education in the greater Jackson area.

The prospective groom is a 2004 graduate of Vicksburg High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Mississippi State University.

Mr. Smith is pursuing a Master of Engineering degree from MSU and is a hydraulic engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Vicksburg.

Vows will be exchanged at 5:30 p.m. July 17, 2010, at the First Baptist Church Chapel. A reception will follow at Old Capitol Inn in Jackson.

Following a wedding trip to Cozumel, Mexico, the couple will make their home in Clinton.
