McAlister, King to exchange vows

Rick and Connie McAlister of McComb announce the engagement of their daughter, Christie Antoinette of Jackson, to Colby James King of Memphis. Mr. King is the son of Steve and Paula Jones of Madison.
Miss McAlister is the granddaughter of Tom Loveless and the late Magdalene Loveless of Brookhaven and Emmit McAlister and the late Antoinette McAlister of Baton Rouge.
Mr. King is the grandson of Bill and Gale Davis of Memphis.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Porters Chapel Academy, where she was a member of the Lady Eagles softball team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society and Hall of Fame. She served as president of the Student Council and chaplain of the senior class.
She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Southern Mississippi, where she was a member of the women’s rugby football league, and a master’s degree in political science and history from Mississippi College, where she served as president of Pi Sigma Alpha political science honor society.
Miss McAlister is employed with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Mississippi.
The prospective groom is a graduate of Cordova High School in Memphis, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and Marketing Club. He attended the University of Memphis, where he was a member and scholarship chairman for Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, and Mississippi College, where he will graduate in December with a Bachelor of Arts degree in administration of justice and pre-law.
Mr. King is events coordinator at Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano and is a private classical guitar instructor.
The wedding will be at 2 p.m. March 5, 2011, at River of Life Assembly of God in Brandon. A reception will follow at Cool Water Cafe & Catering in Ridgeland. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.
