James A. Winstead

James A. Winstead died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at his home. He was 80.
Mr. Winstead was born in Yazoo City and had lived in Vicksburg since 1950. He was the owner of Winstead Trucking LLC and was a retired truck driver. He also was a former employee of Portland Cement Company and Anderson-Tully Co., where he was superintendent of Mill K. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of Bowmar Baptist Church.
Mr. Winstead was preceded in death by his parents, Elzee and Charles Winstead; and his brother, Phillip Winstead.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne B. Winstead of Vicksburg; a son, Jimmy L. Winstead of Jackson; a daughter, Debra Harper of Vicksburg; two brothers, Bill Winstead of Yazoo City and Marvin Winstead of Hattiesburg; three sisters, Laverne Parker, Glenda Millwood and Lois Anne Jenkins, all of Yazoo City; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Reggie Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Vernon Martin Jr., Neil Brooks, John Harper, Bill Winstead, David Daniels and Todd Boolos.
Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Huval, Sam Smith, Billy Brooks, Donny Martin and Marvin Winstead.
