YAZOO CITY — Jessie B. Lewis died Monday, May 30, 2011, at his home in Yazoo City. He was 74.
A Yazoo County native, Mr. Lewis was an Army veteran and a Methodist. He had worked as plant manager for Federal Compress.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie J. and Lutra Mansfield Lewis.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Lewis of Yazoo City; three sons, Russell Lewis and Ronnie Lewis, both of Yazoo City, and Bill Lewis of Jackson, Tenn.; one brother, Billy Lewis of Brandon; one sister, Ada Mae Martin of Vicksburg; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City with the Rev. Ken Lynch officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the service.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Hanna, Jeff Carpenter, James Douglas, Carl Pettigrew, Viven Douglas and Wesley Glidewell.
