A Warren County man convicted of selling marijuana 20 years ago was back in the jail this morning after a Wednesday afternoon raid on his home.
Charles Henry Jackson, 60, was arrested at 3 p.m. at his home at 457 Standard Hill Road when deputies and a swat team served a search warrant and found nearly three pounds of marijuana, hydrocodone, a .38 caliber pistol, three shotguns and two rifles, said Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace. The pot was found in a washing machine on the front porch.
Jackson was charged with possession of marijuana and a controlled substance with intent to sell and with six counts of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, Pace said.
Jackson was convicted in 1991 of selling marijuana, Pace said. He was sentenced then to three years in prison, but at least part of it was suspended and further information was not available this morning.
Jackson was being held without bond pending an initial hearing.
The sheriff’s department’s canine officer, Zeus, was injured during the raid when he cut his leg on a trailer. The dog was rushed to an emergency animal clinic where he received stitches and was held overnight, Pace said.
