In Issaquena County, the panel of 18 grand jurors were sworn in Monday by Circuit Judge M. James Chaney.

The grand jury reviewed evidence in three felony cases, returning indictments against three defendants.

Jurors also issued a report recommending various repairs and upgrades to the courthouse and sheriff’s department, and additional funding for law enforcement personnel salaries and training. They also commended officials “for going above and beyond the call of duty during the Great Flood of 2011.”
