Desirea Johnson, 15, the daughter of Freteshia Johnson, left, shows Mary Ellen Presson the hat she knitted and a new one she is working on during arts and crafts Tuesday at the Girls Club & Male Image Camp sponsored by Vicksburg Family Development Service. The monthlong camp at the AmeriCorps NCCC campus was for 30 children and sponsored by a Project SYNC grant. The children attended educational classes in the mornings where they discussed behavioral management, cyberbullying, abstinence, alcohol, drugs and tobacco. In the afternoons, they chose among arts and crafts, sports and music classes.
