Robert Barron Hynum

Robert Barron Hynum died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at his home. He was 83.
Mr. Hynum moved to Vicksburg in 1950 and began work at R.G. LeTourneau, retiring in 1988 as a supervisor. He served three years in the Army.
He was a member of Hyland Masonic Lodge No. 113 and Port Gibson Masonic Lodge No. 3. He served as senior grand deacon of Grand Lodge of Mississippi. He was a member of Nite Masonry, Shrine, Scottish Rite, York Rite and Eastern Star. He was a gardener.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jewell Hynum; a sister, Dorothy Tanner; and a son, Johnnie Earl Hynum.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Velma Hynum of Vicksburg; a son, Jimmy Dale Hynum of Tallulah; a daughter, Barbara Stennett of Vicksburg; five sisters, Mildred Hynum and Edna Raines, both of Vicksburg, Earline Goza of McBride, Margaret Ann Brown of Brookhaven and Betty Mae Wade of Pearl; one brother, Linton Hynum of Monroe; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home with Brian Abel of Grace Baptist Church officiating. Masonic services will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon Thursday until the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Elmer Neilson, Phillip Coutch Sr., Phillip Coutch Jr., Billy Ray Muirhead, J.W. Wright and Skipper Whittington.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hyland and Port Gibson Masonic lodge members, Reggie King, Jerry Hubbard, James Muirhea
