Alcorn choir takes first win

Finalists in the V105.5 Christmas Caroling Contest will compete Saturday night for cash prizes.

During Thursday night’s preliminaries, a winner was announced in the Division 5, college-level competition. First place, and $750, was awarded to the Alcorn State University Men’s Chorale. Runner-up was the Clefs, from Hinds Community College, which won $250.

Saturday’s finals will be at the Vicksburg Convention Center, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, children 12 and younger are admitted free. For more information, call 601-630-2929.
