A Vicksburg woman was arrested and charged with embezzlement Tuesday afternoon after the business for which she worked reported cash missing during her shift, Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Iris Wells, 35, 1213 Warrenton Road, was taken to the Warren County Jail at 3:45 p.m., and later posted a $2,500 bond and was released.

Internal audits at the convenience store for which Wells worked revealed discrepancies at the cash register, Pace said, and the subsequent investigation identified her as a suspect.
