Herman Joseph Schultz Jr. died Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at River Region Medical Center. He was 94.
A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Schultz was a welder for 74 years. He owned and operated Schultz Welding Company.
He was a member of Local Union No. 619 Plumbers and Pipefitters and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans and St. Michael Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kleinman Schultz; his father, Herman Joseph Schultz Sr.; his mother, Idalie M. Schultz; a son, Herman Joseph “Joey” Schultz III; a granddaughter, Angela Schultz Shiers; and four sisters and one brother.
Survivors include one granddaughter, Stacy S. Hartley (Larry) of Vicksburg; and three great-granddaughters, Ginger Shiers, Magen Hartley and Jordan Hartley.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. P.J. Curley and Monsignor Patrick Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Friday until the service.
Pallbearers will be Larry Hartley, Chris Hartley, Bob Harrell, Jim Harrell, Martin Pace, Harold Moody, Billy Bowers and David Bowers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Skippy Tuminello, “Little Red” Kleinman, Benson Kleinman, John Kleinman, Tim Wright, Cooper Trevillion, Shane Gray, Dr. Bill Porter and Dr. Bob Ford.
