Clark, Hulbert marry at New Mount Elem

Charlos Clark and Lakendra Hulbert were married at 3 p.m. Feb. 26, 2011, at New Mount Elem M.B. Church, 3014 Wisconsin Ave. The Rev. Leonard Walker officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Johnny and Hazel Hulbert of Port Gibson. She is the granddaughter of Luella Johnson of Hermanville.

The groom is the son of Charles and Bettye Clark of Vicksburg. He is the nephew of Mamie Barnes of Utica, who was seated in place of the groom’s deceased grandparents.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride’s chosen colors were chocolate and ivory. Nuptial selections were presented by C.J. Williams, pianist, and Alfonso Brown, soloist.

Maid of honor was Chelshe Archie of Canton. Matron of honor was Victoria Davis Moore of Vicksburg. Bridesmaids were Malinda Brown and Sharon Vaughn, both of Vicksburg; LaKeisha Barnes of Utica; Lakeisha Johnson of Hermanville; and Bennetta Robinson of Port Gibson. Junior bridesmaids were Brianna Clark of Vicksburg and Alishia Hulbert of St. Louis, Mo.

The Rev. Adrian Clark and Tyron Turner, both of Vicksburg, served as best men. Groomsmen were Charles Brown and Roderick Hughes, both of Vicksburg; Michael Welch of Port Gibson; Reginald Hulbert of Brookhaven; and Darmechie Hulbert of St. Louis. Junior groomsmen were Peyton Lassiter Jr. and Andrew Thomas.

Usher was Bobby Jones of Vicksburg.

Flower girls were Azaria Hulbert of St. Louis and Amber Wells of Canton. Ring bearer was Tyler Hulbert of Vicksburg.

Miniature bride was Khyla Howard of Vicksburg. Bible bearer was Darius Hulbert of St. Louis.

A reception followed at Unique Impressions. Hostesses were Brandy Clark, Ursula Hulbert, Janeya Washington and Jamesa Scott.

The couple will make their home in Vicksburg.
