CANTON — Alma Jewel Richardson, 83, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at Madison County Medical Center in Canton. Visitation is from 11 a.m.–noon today at Breeland Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery in Vicksburg.

A native of Vicksburg, she had lived in Memphis until moving to Canton in 2006. She was a member of The Christian Church. She taught Sunday school and played piano for Frayser Christian Church in Memphis.

Mrs. Richardson spent many years doing research for genealogy, which was one of her favorite hobbies.

Survivors include her husband, J.D. Richardson; son, Jim Richardson Jr. (Bobbie) of Canton; daughter, Pat Bergstresser (Bob) of Winter Park, Fla.; brother, Roy M. Edwards Jr. of Great Falls, Mont.; grandchildren, Jim Richardson III, Katie McLellan, Melanie Williamson; and 10 great-grandchildren.
