Josephine Martin Ricks died Monday, May 9, 2011, at River Region Medical Center. She was 62.

Mrs. Ricks was born in Port Barre, La. With her husband, she owned and operated Ricks Carpets for more than 30 years. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Ricks; her father, Dewey Martin; her mother, Alice Carson Martin; a sister, Jeanette Hodges; and a brother, Leroy Martin Horne.

Survivors include two sisters, Mae Bell M. Roberts and Delores M. Carman of Madison; and a stepson, Phillip L. Ricks of Temple, Texas.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Richardson, Scott Richardson, Glen Waters, David McKee, Rufus Nowell, Charles Morris and Stanley Ricks.

Honorary pallbearers will be Willie D. Ricks, Betty White, Charles Richardson, Timothy Mozingo, Dabo Mozingo, Kelly Nowell and Man Nowell.
