Caleb Shufelt hit two of University Christian’s three 3-pointers in the first quarter to help give the Flames a double-digit lead they never relinquished in a win over St. Al (0-6).
Shufelt finished with 14 points for University Christian (3-1), which led 21-10 after the first period. Its lead never got below that mark again, nor was it ever more than 21. Matthew Foley scored 25 points and Elliott Bexley had 21 for St. Al, but their teammates didn’t add much. The Flashes’ two high scorers were a combined 17-for-35 from the field. The rest of the team went 2-for-16 and only scored seven points.
