“We just have to continue doing Sunday what we have done the past three days,” said Alcorn coach Barrett Rey, whose team will make its third straight championship game appearance. “We are taking these one game at a time.”

Alcorn only had eight hits against Texas Southern (25-29), but took advantage of 11 walks from a half-dozen pitchers to cruise to the victory. Perdomo and Kenny Rowan each drove in two runs with doubles during a six-run first inning, and Perdomo smacked a two-run homer in the second to make it 8-0.

The Braves added four more runs in the sixth and the game was halted by the mercy rule after seven innings.

Perdomo finished 3-for-4 with five RBIs and three runs scored for Alcorn (25-27), while Gonzalez was 3-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored. Cole Vicars scattered seven hits and struck out three in a complete game victory.
