Cochran, Wicker wrong on terrorist detention bill

I will have a problem voting again for either Sen. Thad Cochran or Sen. Roger Wicker. These two near-RINOs — Republicans in Name Only — just voted for the National Defense Authorization Act (Senate Bill 1867), otherwise known as the “Indefinite Detention Bill.”

That should scare the heck out of anyone who loves the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. This bill effectively hands over control to the military to arrest, torture and even kill terrorists — meaning YOU, if you cling to your guns and your Bible, have a Ron Paul bumper sticker, or keep a 7-day supply of food on hand.

It allows the military to hold “suspected terrorists” indefinitely without a trial or due process. This applies to both non-citizens and citizens of the United States.

With this bill, you are guilty until proved innocent, and you may never get a trial to prove your innocence. That Mississippi’s two senators joined 91 of their colleagues to pass this bill illustrates the extent to which our government has surrendered to forces attempting to destroy our constitution.

Remember their votes when they come up for re-election.
