New security gates and cameras are in the works at the Port of Vicksburg, thanks to $380,000 in federal grant money.
The beefed-up security system will replace old chain-link gates and cameras and should be installed “within a few months,” said Tom Murphree, regional sales manager for Kinder Morgan, the port’s contract operator.
Funds came from a grant, geared to port security, from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
