Millie Lee Spates Jones died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at Covenant Health and Rehab of Vicksburg. She was 74.

Mrs. Jones was a member of Temple of Empowerment Church, where she was a mother of the church. She retired from MIDD-West Janitorial in 1999.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira Jones Sr. and Lucille Granton Jones; and three brothers, Ira Jones Jr., Grant Jones Sr. and Lonnie Jones.

Survivors include her husband, Frank A. Jones of Vicksburg; three sons, Leroy Spates of Dolton, Ill., William Spates Sr. of Gulfport and Gregory Spates of Vicksburg; four daughters, Flora Spates Jackson and Rosie Spates Price, both of Vicksburg, Linda Spates Ragan of Redwood and Mildred Spates Brown of Seoul, Korea; three sisters, Lillie Hinkle and Joe Ann Roberts, both of Vicksburg, and Mary Smith of North Carolina; four brothers, Jessie Jones of Tallulah and Robert Jones Sr., Tommie Jones and Cleotha Jones, all of Vicksburg; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Tyrone Haggard officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.
