Rev. Elijah Lemont Eason

ROLLING FORK — The Rev. Elijah Lemont Eason died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital. He was 46.

Rev. Eason was pastor at Mount Lula M.B. Church in Rolling Fork and was assistant maintenance director for the South Delta School District. He served in the U.S. Army, receiving the Army Service Ribbon, Army Achievement Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal, Expert Badge with M16 Rifle Bar and Expert Badge with Hand Grenade Bar.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Jacqueline Eason.

He is survived by his wife, Angela Eason of Rolling Fork; one son, Edward Bush of Vicksburg; four daughters, Deandrea Eason of Cleveland and Antwanette Eason, Elayjah Eason and Mariah Eason, all of Rolling Fork; his parents, Frank Sr. and Maggie Eason of Rolling Fork; two brothers, Frank Eason of Rolling Fork and Dwarrye Collins of Chicago; two sisters, Murindia Williams of Rolling Fork and Frankcine Simmons of Kansas City, Mo.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Lula M.B. Church with the Rev. Willie Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow at Green Chapel Cemetery in Rolling Fork under the direction of Walker Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday at the church.
