David Richard Melton

David Richard Melton died Saturday, March 19, 2011, at his home. He was 54.

Born in Texas, Mr. Melton had been a resident of Vicksburg and Redwood most of his life. He was a retired tankerman for Smith and Big River towing companies. He attended Bovina Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Laurajean Melton; his stepmother, Dot Melton; a grandson, Jarod Johnson; and his grandparents, Claude and Velma Melton and Cecil and Edna Stone.

Survivors include three daughters, Melissa Minshall, Jennifer Melton and Ashley Randolph, all of Baxter, Tenn.; his father, William Russell Melton of Vicksburg; two brothers, Jimmy William Melton and Ben Foley, both of Vicksburg; four sisters, Alice Bell and Sandra Pettway, both of Vicksburg, Lois Martin of Redwood and Lee Seid of Baldwyn; 12 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 today at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until the service.

Pallbearers will be Alan Rymer, Austin Russum, Matthew Pettway, J.J. Russum, Trey Martin, Lester Pettway, Derrick Fields and Zachary Rymer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Steven William Melton, Austin Lee Seid, Justin William Bell, Hannah Parker, Riley Martin, Kinsley Parker, Treyce Keyes and Karsten Keyes.
