Henrietta Anne Taylor Gibbes

LEARNED — Henrietta Anne Taylor Gibbes died Saturday, Christmas Day, 2010, at her home in Learned. She was 89.
Born in Cohey, Miss., Mrs. Gibbes attended Morton Public Schools and graduated with highest honors from Mississippi State College for Women. She taught in Port Gibson and at Forest Hill Junior High School. She was a longtime resident of Raymond and Learned.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Culture Club in Raymond.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Walter Henry Gibbes Sr.; her mother, Pauline Russell Taylor; her father, George J. Taylor III; a brother, George J. Taylor IV; and a sister, Ruth Taylor Myers.
Survivors include a son, Walter Henry “Chip” Gibbes Jr., of Learned; a daughter, Annette Gibbes Rayburn of Madison; one sister, Pauline Taylor Earles of Madison; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services were Friday at Lebanon Presbyterian Church in Learned. Burial followed at the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Walter H. Gibbes Scholarship Fund at Hinds Community College in Raymond.
