50 a.m. when the Big River Ship Builders employees arrived on the job to find the blaze. The wood structure on top of the middle barge had been smoldering through the night, but did not ignite into flames until the morning, said Love. The firefighters will perform a controlled burn on the middle barge instead of trying to put the blaze out since it is tucked between tow steel barges and has no access to the woods near by.
