Barbara Knox Thomas O’Neal died Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at her home. She was 51.

Mrs. O’Neal was a graduate of Warren Central High School and received an Associate of Applied Science degree in business and office technology systems from Hinds Community College. She received her cosmetology license from Milady’s School of Cosmetology. She was employed at JC Penney Salon in Vicksburg.

Mrs. O’Neal was preceded in death by her brother, Ceasar Knox; her maternal grandparents, Victor Knox and Julia White Knox; and her paternal grandparents, Harry Wells and Minerva Cartwright Wade.

Survivors include her parents, Julius Wells and Verda Clark, both of Vicksburg; her daughters, Erica Knox Wilson and Wendy Thomas, both of Vicksburg, and Rosalind Thomas Waites of Cedar Hill, Texas; two sisters, Gwen Coleman and Essie Bailey, both of Vicksburg; her fiancé, Andrew Weathersby of Vicksburg; four grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including members of the Knox, White, Castle, Wells, Dent, Thomas, Cartwright and Flagg families.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Winters officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 2 until 6 at the funeral home.
