FULTON — Bobby Dwayne Gilliam died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011. He was 66. He was a resident of the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford.
Mr. Gilliam was born March 10, 1945, to George William and Delia Busby Gilliam in Memphis. He was an economist for the Army Corps of Engineers in Vicksburg.
He was in the Air Force and was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid hunter and Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow, and a member of the Optimist Club of Vicksburg.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Delia Gilliam; a brother, Gerald Gilliam; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cecil and Celess Wren; and a sister-in-law, Lib Wren.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Sandra “Sandee” Gilliam of Fulton; his father, George Gilliam of Pontotoc; one daughter, Michelle (Clinton) Poores of Saltillo; one son, Michael (Mendy) Gilliam of Brandon; two sisters, Karen Gilliam of Burnsville and Sherry (Danny) Thompson of Pontotoc; four grandchildren, Kyle and Wren Gilliam and Caitlin and Preston Rigby; and a niece, Heather (Dean) Jousan.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Senter Funeral Home in Fulton with Steve Shappley officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight and from 8 a.m. Saturday until the service.
