Texas Southern 6, Miss. Valley St. 5

Cameron Logan’s two-out RBI double in the top of the 11th inning kept Texas Southern alive and eliminated the Delta Devils from the tournament. After TSU had staked a 4-1 lead, Scott Hornstra’s three-run home run tied the game for MVSU and set up the extra inning exciting finish.

TSU played Grambling this morning in an elimination game.

Alcorn St. 20, Grambling 5

The Braves scored 15 runs in the fourth inning and cruised in a rematch of last year’s championship game. Kilby Perdomo’s grand slam gave Alcorn an 18-1 lead after four innings. Eldred Barnett drove in all five Grambling runs with a solo home run and a grand slam.

Alcorn State will face the TSU-Grambling winner at 3 p.m. today.

Southern 13, Jackson State 6

The Jaguars opened up a 9-2 lead by the end of the fourth inning and easily defeated the Tigers in a winner’s bracket game. Wilmy Frazier Hall drove in five runs.
