Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Bryan Adams has added Vicksburg to the U.S. leg of his Bare Bones acoustic solo tour.

The Canadian-born Adams will perform with an array of guitars at Vicksburg Auditorium on Oct. 11.

“Usually, when we go after concerts like this, we don’t get 90 percent of them,” said Larry Gawronski, vice president and executive director for VenuWorks/Vicksburg Convention Center & Auditorium. “It’s either the deal, the city, the tickets. This one’s happening!”

Tickets will sell for $37, $52, and $77, depending on proximity to the stage, Gawronski said.

“It’s arguably the biggest name artist that has played Vicksburg,” he said.

A 12-hour pre-sale of tickets will begin next week, at 10 a.m. Thursday on Ticketmaster.com. Participants in the pre-sale must enter the code word “bones.” Tickets go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Aug. 26 on Ticketmaster’s site, via its charge-by-phone hotline, 800-745-3000, and at the Vicksburg Convention Center box office. The auditorium’s box office will be open only the night of the concert, Gawronski said.

The 51-year-old, guitarist won a Grammy for his 1991 single “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You,” from the movie “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves,” and has received 15 Grammy nominations since his self-titled debut album was released in 1980. His best-selling album, “Reckless, from 1984, has sold more than 13 million copies worldwide and six yielded six singles that cracked the top 15 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 — “Run to You,” “Somebody,” “Heaven,” “Summer of ’69,” “One Night Love Affair” and “It’s Only Love.”

Adams’ mix of solo and acoustic shows kicked off after the release of his 2010 acoustic live album, “Bare Bones.” Tour dates are set in Australia through Sept. 22 and in Minneapolis, Milwaukee and Chicago before the show in Vicksburg. It picks up again in January 2012 in Peekskill, N.Y., says his Adams’ website, www.bryanadams.com.
