I am writing in reference to Mondays page 2 announcement of our senior pastor stepping away from the pulpit to take some time for his family dealing with some things of a private matter. I don’t see how that was newsworthy to anyone in Vicksburg, to me it was an attempt to spread gossip in a small town.

Our service at Bowmar Baptist Church last Sunday morning was between a pastor and his church family. It was a private family meeting not an announcement to Vicksburg.

My other point is when I submit a letter to The Vicksburg Post I have to sign my name and give my phone number, but when a staff reporter wants to spread gossip in our small town they can hide behind the title Staff reporter, if you are going to step into a family meeting at our church be willing to sign your name.

Signed a church member who loves and supports his pastor and his family and their need to have a little respect and privacy right now.
