A brother and sister were released from the Warren County Jail this morning after being arrested for burglary in the county the day before.
Katherine Mocknick, 27, and Joseph Mocknick, 24, both of 212 Dogwood Lake Drive, were arrested on Tiffintown Road near Interstate 20 around noon Monday, about an hour after a homeowner in the 3000 block of Bovina Cut-Off Road called police and reported a vase filled with $200 in coins missing, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.
The homeowner told deputies that she let in the pair when they showed for a visit because they had been acquainted, Pace said. She then told police that while she was talking to Katherine Mocknick, Joseph Mocknick went into an adjacent room of the house, where the vase was located. He left the home through another door, Pace said.
A vehicle description and tag number led deputies to the Mocknicks, after they had the coins cashed in for bills at a local business, Pace said.
Each was released this morning on a $5,000 bond.
