Golden Washington died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 95.

Mrs. Washington was born in Duck Hill. She was a member of Gospel Temple M.B. Church, where she was on the usher board. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Washington; a son, James Twilley; two sisters, Bertha Edwards and Nancy Hunt; and her parents.

She is survived by a son, Thomas Washington of Vicksburg; a sister, Willie B. Moss of Memphis; 17 grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
