Chuck and Rita Mendrop of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Melanie, to Jake Dornbusch. Mr. Dornbusch is the son of Albert and Gloria Dornbusch of Vicksburg.

Miss Mendrop is the granddaughter of O.W. and Caroline Mendrop of Vicksburg, the late Ottis Copes and the late Dorothy Hartzog.

Mr. Dornbusch is the grandson of the late Abe and Gloria Abraham and the late Albert and Zelma Dornbusch.

The bride-elect is a 2001 graduate of Warren Central High School. She graduated from Hinds Community College in 2003 and the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2005.

Miss Mendrop is a registered dental hygienist for Dr. Janet Fisher.

The prospective groom is a 1998 graduate of St. Aloysius High School. He graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2003.

Mr. Dornbusch is a partner in Floweree Planting Company.

Vows will be exchanged Oct. 22, 2011, in a private ceremony at Wilsonwood Lodge. A reception will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the lodge. All relatives and friends are invited to attend the reception. No local invitations will be sent.
