Six sentenced in Warren County Circuit Court

In Warren County Circuit Court for the week ending Friday:
• Bennett Armstead, also known as Burnette Armstead, 28, 2422 Halls Ferry Road, pleaded guilty to three counts of burglary of a dwelling and was sentenced by Circuit Judge Isadore Patrick to three eight-year prison terms, to be served concurrently, followed by five years of probation, plus a $1,000 fine, $967.50 in costs and $8,435 in restitution, from an arrest Nov. 10. Armstead was also found guilty of violating probation and sentenced by Patrick to seven years in prison to be served consecutively to his other sentences, plus a total of $1,822.50 in fines, restitution and costs associated with an arrest April 21, 2008, for attempted burglary of a dwelling.
• Spencer Griffin, 21, 1929 Baldwin Ferry Road, was found guilty of violating probation and sentenced by Patrick to complete a program at the Warren-Yazoo Mental Health Service followed by probation for up to five years, plus $2,427.50 in fines, fees and restitution. Griffin was arrested July 18, 2008 for auto burglary.
• Sean Patrick Lott, 32, 275 Clark Road, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced by Circuit Judge M. James Chaney to the Ninth Circuit Court Drug Court Program for a period not to exceed five years, plus a $1,000 fine and $997.50 in costs and fees. Lott was arrested Sept. 18.
• James Maxey, 20, 108 W. China St., pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property and was sentenced by Chaney to 34 days in jail followed by one year in the Mississippi Department of Corrections Intensive Supervision Program (house arrest) and then by three years of probation, plus a $1,000 fine and $322.50 in cost. Maxey was arrested April 26, 2010.
• Jamal Durrell Stowers, 23, who gave addresses of 30 D King Drive and 128 Village Drive, pleaded guilty to felony eluding and grand larceny and was sentenced by Patrick to seven years in prison followed by three years of probation, plus a $2,000 fine, $645 in costs and $5,000 in restitution. Stowers was arrested April 26, 2009, and Oct. 5, 2009.
• Christopher C. Strawbridge, 30, 70 Upland Drive, was found guilty of violating probation and sentenced by Patrick to up to five years of probation, plus $2,707.50 in fines, fees and restitution. Strawbridge was arrested March 27, 2009, for false pretenses.
