River Kids art students work on a western sunset art project during the first day of the free 13-week art program at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center. River Kids, funded by the Mississippi Arts Commission, is for children ages 6-12. Meetings are each Thursday from 4 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. The art students are Amaya Goodwin, 8, front, the daughter of Walter and Katrina Goodwin, and Rebecca Erekson, 8, the daughter of Mike and Lena Erekson.
