Tom Olstad has been named manager of International Paper’s Vicksburg Mill.

Olstad was promoted to the position at the Redwood plant from the company’s container-board mill in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He succeeds Tom Macher, who is now employed at IP’s Memphis headquarters.

Olstad held several posts at the company’s container-board mill in Albany, Ore., for 20 years before his time in Iowa. He has a bachelor’s degree in Pulp and Paper Engineering from the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point. He and his wife, Mary, have two children.
