Keith Dean Hunt

PORT GIBSON — Keith Dean Hunt died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was 76.

A native of Rolfe, Iowa, Mr. Hunt had lived in Port Gibson for 28 years. He retired from Southern Cotton Oil in Port Gibson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Maude Hunt of Iowa; two sons, Larry Hunt and James “Jim” Hunt; one daughter, Jamie Greer Welch; and a brother, Byron Hunt.

Survivors include two sons, Keith D. Hunt II of Vicksburg and Robert Carrier of Florida; six daughters, Dawn Peck of Idaho, Lisa Plooster and Dori Anderson, both of South Dakota, Dena Byrnes of Carlisle and Tonya Greer and Lois Greer, both of Pearl; a sister, Bonita Walker of Hereford, Texas; and 22 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Chris Thornell, Tim Burrough, Luke Byrnes, Mark Greer, Powell Hudson and Shelton Rainer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Jordan, Randald Jordan, Herbert Williams and Dr. David Headley.
