A Cary man died Sunday night on Interstate 20 in Lincoln Parish, La., when he was struck by a vehicle after a wreck, said Mark Dennis, Louisiana state trooper first class.

Jacques Luckett, 27, address unavailable, was driving a 2003 Nissan Altima west on I-20 around 11:50 p.m. when his vehicle rear-ended a 2010 Toyota Yaris, Dennis said.

The Toyota veered off the road onto the south side of the Interstate, while Luckett stopped on the I-20 shoulder on the north side of the road.

Dennis said Luckett then apparently got out of his vehicle and lay down in the road. Shortly after, a 2010 Chevolet Impala traveling west and not associated with the original wreck hit Luckett.

Luckett was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lincoln Parish Coroner’s office, Dennis said.

The driver of the Impala, 36-year-old Rodney Roberts from Louisville, Miss., was not injured, nor was the driver of the Toyota Yaris.
