WOODVILLE — Richard L. “Butch” Nettles Jr. of Woodville died Sunday, May 29, 2011, at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was 51.

Mr. Nettles was born Dec. 30, 1959, in Centreville. He was an oilfield worker and a member of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard L. Nettles Sr.

He is survived by his mother, Shirley Evans Nettles of Woodville; one son, Richard L. “Ricky” Nettles III and fiance Brandi of Woodville; a sister, Pam Wallace and husband Bobby of Olive Branch; two aunts, Carol Geter and husband Freddie of Vicksburg and Nora Wallace of Wisner, La.; and numerous cousins.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at Newman Funeral Home in Woodville with the Rev. Howard Peak officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery.

Pallbearers were David Wallace Sr., David Wallace Jr., Jimmy Ray Rowell, Neyland Smith Sr., Neyland Smith Jr., Justin Satcher, Ronnie Longmire and Bobby Wesberry.
