PORT GIBSON — Jerome “Poody” Wilson died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at his home. He was 50.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lee Wilson of Port Gibson; one sister Dr. Gloria Wilson-Turnipseed of Colorado Springs, Co.; seven brothers, Percy Davis of Seattle, Johnny Wilson of Bessemer, Ala., Jerry Wilson of Swansca, S.C., John Wilson of Jackson, Joe Wilson of Atlanta, Jeffery Wilson of Dallas and Danny Hyder of Vicksburg; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Ashland M.B. Church with the Revs. J.N. Dorsey and Leonard Walker officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home and Monday from noon until the service at the church.
