State Rep. George Flaggs of Vicksburg has been appointed chairman of the Committee on Business, Financial Services and Insurance for the National Black Caucus of State Legislators.

“I am pleased and honored to be recognized nationally,” said Flaggs, a Democrat. “It is always a high honor to be recognized for your leadership skills.”

Flaggs, a member of the Mississippi Legislature for 22 years, is also chairman of the Banking and Financial Services Committee. His committee memberships are Appropriations; Executive Contingent Fund; Gaming; Insurance; Investigate State Offices; Legislative Budget; Medicaid; and Public Health and Human Services.
