Hopson fellow of Bar Foundation

Sen. W Briggs Hopson III, R-Vicksburg, has been named a fellow of the Mississippi Bar Foundation.

Hopson was inducted this month during the foundation’s annual meeting.

Hopson received his law degree in 1990 from the University of Mississippi, and has served the foundation as Young Lawyer President and Bar Commissioner. He has also served on the Client Relations Committee.

Hopson has served in leadership roles for the United Way, Good Shepherd Community Center, Mission Mississippi, Mississippi River Trail and with the United Methodist Church.

He is married to the former Ali Quaid, and they have three children.

Organized in 1963, the Mississippi Bar Foundation administers the Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts Program, which has awarded more than $10 million to public interest, law-related programs in Mississippi, a release from the organization said.

Hopson was first elected to the Legislature in 2007 and represents Warren, Issaquena and part of Yazoo County.
