St. Aloysius couldn’t come up with a way to slow down Tyrisha Patterson, and as a result, it couldn’t beat Loyd Star.
Patterson, who finished with 40 points and 11 rebounds, scored 21 in the first half to help Loyd Star (8-2) build a big lead it never relinquished, and the Lady Hornets eased on to a big win over St. Al (2-7).
Patterson was 9-for-11 from the field in the first half, most of her baskets coming on layups. She finished 16-for-21, with only one or two shots coming from outside the paint. Loyd Star led 37-21 at halftime and extended the lead to 24 points by the end of the third quarter.
