Elias Y. Rantisi departed this life in the hope of resurrection unto eternal life on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, surrounded by his family. He was 67.

He was the son of the late Yacob and Maria Rantisi. He was born in the town of Lydda in the West Bank, where he graduated from high school, and later moved to Cairo, Egypt, where he attended law school. Since 1975, Mr. Rantisi had been a resident of Vicksburg, where he owned and operated a men’s clothing store, On Time Fashions, until his death. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather (gido) and brother. His wife and three daughters were his life.

Mr. Rantisi was a hard worker until his dying day. He was never without a smile; nor did he ever meet a stranger. He was an active member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, where he was an usher and a former member of the Parish Council.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Rustom Rantisi of Vicksburg; three daughters, Mary Rantisi Mousa and husband Frank of Dallas and Nadia Rantisi Andrews and Janet Rantisi, both of Vicksburg; four grandchildren, Frank B. Mousa III, Mary Grace Mousa, Jacob Ellis Mousa and Dean “Walt” Andrews; three sisters; two brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Elias Y. Rantisi will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Riles Funeral Home with Trisagion Prayers at 7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Frank Mousa, Randy Khalaf, Nader Khalaf, John Daho, David Rustom, Joe Rustom, Sammy Rustom and Ellis Rustom.

Honorary pallbearers will be Youssef Rustom, Joe Khalaf, Sam Dabit, George Daho, Samir Rustom, Ibrahim Rustom, Samer Rustom, George Tzotzolas, George Nasif, Joe Bottino, Franco Rossi, Freddy Abraham, Robert Abraham, Clyde Ellis and the Men of St. George.
