Rebel Road Trip coming April 24

The Ole Miss Rebel Road Trip will visit Vicksburg on Tuesday, in the fifth stop on a 16-city tour of the state and surrounding areas. The event will be headlined by appearances from Ole Miss football coach Hugh Freeze and new athletic director Ross Bjork. It will be held at the Vicksburg Convention Center from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., and lunch will be served. Tickets are $15 and are available at rebelroadtrip12.com.

Warren Central soccer tryouts

Tryouts for Warren Central’s girls soccer team will be held May 7 and 8, beginning at 2:45 p.m. each day at the school’s practice field along Mississippi 27. Players must have a current physical, parental consent form and wear shin guards. The tryouts are for players entering grades 7-12, or who will attend Warren Central High School or Warren Junior in the 2012-13 school year.

Vicksburg High girls’ varsity basketball tryouts are scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Vicksburg High gymnasium from 3 until 4:30 p.m. each day. Kathy Hester junior golf program

Registration is open for Kathy Hester’s spring and summer junior golf programs. The program includes instructional classes, golf camps and tournaments throughout the summer.

Classes for boys are offered at 4 p.m. each Wednesday, and girls classes are at 4 p.m. each Friday. The classes cost $10. The camps are scheduled for June 5-8 at The Golf Center at the Vicksburg Outlet Mall, June 12-15 at Meadow Oak Golf Club, and June 19-22 at The Links of Madison. The fee for each camp is $80. The tournaments will be played once a week at various courses in central Mississippi and cost $25 to enter. Soccer camp at Hinds CC

Hinds Community College will host its annual summer soccer camp June 4-8 at the school’s soccer complext in Raymond.
