The engagement of Angelique L. Byrd of Vicksburg to Billy Edward Snell of Mendenhall is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at 6 p.m. March 31, 2012, at Rainbow Arena in Vicksburg. A reception will follow.

Miss Byrd is the daughter of Sandra Byrd Turner of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Elizabeth Byrd of Vicksburg.

Mr. Snell is the son of Eddie Snell Sr. of Mendenhall and the late Bertha Mae Snell.

The bride-elect is a 1989 graduate of Vicksburg High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society, Color Guard, marching band and Who’s Who Among High School Students. She was a debutante and served as president of Just Say No.

She attended Hinds Community College and Mississippi College.

Miss Byrd is a nurse at Mississippi State Hospital.

The prospective groom is a 1979 graduate of Mendenhall High School. He is a truck driver for Total Transportation.
