Lora S. Lumbley

Lora S. Lumbley, 84, of Vicksburg, died Friday, March 11, 2011, at Magnolia Senior Care in Jackson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Homein Vicksburg. Burial will be at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2011, at the funeral home.

Lora was a seamstress and enjoyed quilting, crocheting and cooking. She enjoyed cake decorating. She had a passion for entertaining. She loved flowers and gardening. Lora had a special love for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading her Bible and various sorts of books. She was a waitress at The Glass Kitchen for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Clark and Mary Ethel Seale; her husband, Edwin Arnold Lumbley Sr.; and her daughter, Carrolyn Faye Thomas.

Survivors include two daughters, Imogene (George) Walters and Connie (James) Hall; three sons, Edwin Arnold (Charlotte) Lumbley Jr., Kenneth Ray (Anita Sue) Lumbley and John Allen Lumbley; 12 grandchildren, Dr. Robin Lumbley Fontenot, Sherry Thomas Palmer, Sandra Thomas, Richard Walters, Teresa Walters Johnson, David Walters, Hershel Walters, Kevin Walters, Cameron Jae Hall, Jeremy Morgan Herring, Madison Lumbley and John Allen Lumbley Jr.; 12 great-grandchildren, Mark Andrew Little, Kasey Warren Little, Austin Thomas Palmer, Shelby Fred Kurtz, Justin Walters, Rachael Walters, Samuel Johnson, Christine Johnson, Rebekah Johnson, Tania Zeisler, Riley Walters and Bruce Walters; one great-great-grandchild, Sara Catalina; four sisters, Ruby Kite, Claudine White, Katherine Magee and Vivian Middleton; and twin brother, Lois “Red” Seale.

Pallbearers are Mark Little, Kevin Walters, David Walters, Hershel Walters, Shelby Kurtz, Jeremy Herring, Sam Johnson and Stephen Johnson.
